FEATURED EDITORIALS
“Capturing Power and Poise with Paul Morales”
by Kelambi Magazine and Paul Morales
When athletic grit collides with high-fashion poise, the tennis court transforms into a bold, high-contrast canvas of color and attitude. In the captivating editorial “Sweat It Out,” photographer Paul Morales delivers a sharp, dynamic visual narrative that redefines contemporary sports styling.
Juxtaposing classic tennis whites, electric neon greens, and playful retro polka dots against the vibrant court blue, Morales captures a seamless blend of strength and sartorial elegance. Bringing this story to life are five standout models—Erika Hill, Wa Da, Jasmine “PJ” Wood, Olivia Drotoz, and Jasmine Baird—each bringing their distinct edge and presence to the frame.
In this exclusive feature for Kelambi Magazine, Paul Morales and the creative team take us behind the scenes to discuss the creative vision, on-court energy, and art direction that made Sweat It Out an absolute ace.
“The Art of Collaboration”
by ARTNOIR Magazine and Paul Morales
For Paul Morales, the most compelling fashion photographs begin with a shared idea. His creative turning point came in 2022, when working with models opened a new chapter after years spent photographing weddings, families and senior portraits. Today, collaboration shapes every stage of his work with the Morales Fashion Art Collective, from the first styling conversations to the movement and expression that bring an image to life.
With Black Label, that approach takes on an intimate, atmospheric character. Photographed at Hoosier Proper in Warsaw, Indiana, the series draws on the bar’s upscale setting, pairing bright highlights with deep shadows. In this conversation with ARTNOIR, Morales discusses the craft behind his images, the patience involved in developing a personal vision, and his belief that a powerful photograph should leave its audience wanting to know more.
“In Conversation”
by Photohouse Magazine and Paul Morales
How do you stay inspired and continue to grow as a photographer?
Like any artistic discipline, I think growth happens in two important ways. First, I'm always researching my own craft. Finding and following experts in the field who have new techniques to teach me at every stage in the process. Second, I think it's really important to create when you're
NOT inspired. You have to force yourself to practice and hone your skills even when you're not feeling passionate about the project.
Which part of the process do you enjoy the most?
It's hard to say what I enjoy most. I'm in love with the collaborative element of the shooting process. Working with models in the moment, them posing, me chasing angles and light and composition - that's really exhilarating for me. But I also love editing. I know a lot of photographers don't. But there's something really satisfying about seeing a photo come out of the camera and then shaping it in the edit into whatever you envisioned it to be.
